Thematic networking across projects and programmes coming up

Since 2021 the NWE Programme has approved 91 projects and allocated almost all of its available budget across five calls. Most of the funded NWE projects are in full swing or have recently closed. Looking at these achievements, the Programme is now shifting its efforts towards supporting the uptake of project outputs and collaboration across projects.

In the coming years, the Programme will launch numerous initiatives to bring projects together around key themes relevant to North-West Europe. These efforts will facilitate exchanges and create synergies across NWE projects and beyond.

To support this objective, and with the help of the NWE Contact Points, the Programme is therefore organising multiple cross-programme events starting in 2026. Many of these will focus on the first key themes identified for the Programme, which were discussed at the last NWE Annual Event in Luxembourg: water resilience and security, energy communities, smart and sustainable agriculture, climate resilient urban areas, healthcare, or circular economy.

This effort supports the Programme’s Capitalisation Strategy where thematic clustering serves as a catalyst to create synergies, enhance collaboration across projects, increase the visibility of project outputs, and support their uptake. It also reflects the Programme’s Operation of Strategic Importance (OSI), defined as 'supporting the thematic clustering of projects' which was recently approved by Member States.

If you are a partner in an NWE project or any other Interreg project, this is an excellent time for you to connect and leverage cross-project and cross-programme knowledge in your field. But where to start? Take a look at the events below and see if one of them could fit your needs! For past events, you can still get in touch with the relevant Contact Point to know more about the outcomes of the event.
