EURegionsTalk | Building sustainable, resilient and inclusive cities with local digital twins
What if you could simulate the impact of new square designs, road networks, urban heat or flooding in an interactive 3D environment? Drawing on Interreg North-West Europe project Twin4Resilience, Catalin Turlica, Project Coordinator at BXLCITY, will present how digital twins could make it possible. By analysing different scenarios and combining data with local specificities, digital twins help identify the best solutions for territorial planning. Co-developed by 14 organisations and tested across 8 pilots in North-West Europe, the T4R project helps cities and regions take the next step in using local digital twins for a more sustainable, resilient and inclusive territorial planning.

EURegionsTalk | Soil, carbon, action: Supporting farmers towards a sustainable agriculture
The AquaCOM project is about community. It’s about thousands of stakeholders in BE,NL,DE,FR and IE working together as energy communities towards a common objective: a citizen-led energy transition. It’s about aquathermal energy as a source of power. It’s about innovation and accelerating the transition to net zero. It’s about behavioural change at local level, policy change at national level, and enabling policy instruments at EU level. Catherine Smyth, Project Manager, will map out how AquaCOM is responding to these objectives by building two aquathermal demonstrator projects and working collaboratively with 15 ‘Early Adopter’ communities throughout North-West Europe.
About #EURegionsWeek
Organised by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy and the European Committee of the Regions, the European Week of Regions and Cities is the biggest annual Brussels-based event dedicated to Cohesion Policy. With the overall aim to highlight its place-based and territorial aspects, this year’s edition is placed under the motto “Strong regions, strong Europe”; it will be an important opportunity to exchange ideas, grow partnerships and share experience on how cohesion policy can help every region succeed.
Because when our regions are strong, Europe is strong.
