Throughout the 2021-2027 period, the Interreg NWE Programme has systematically reviewed the outreach of its calls for project proposals as well as approved projects with respect to territories reached, types of stakeholders engaged, and themes and activities supported.

This allows the Programme to regularly check how it aligns with the objectives set out in the Interreg Programme document, and to identify the potential gaps between programme ambition and implementation - which is why this internal review is called “NWE Gap analysis”.

After five closed calls, 91 approved projects and almost full allocation of the available budget, the latest “NWE Gap analysis” therefore gives an excellent overview of the Programme coverage and outreach in 2021-2027. It will serve not only to support the Programme’s current capitalisation phase dedicated to pushing projects' results one step further but will also feed into Member States’ discussions on designing the future Programme 2028-2034.
