Have your say in the future Interreg North-West Europe Programme!

How does cooperation add value in North-West Europe? What are the strengths and weaknesses of our Programme? What should the Programme look like in the future? The Interreg NWE Programme is calling on all NWE stakeholders to join the conversation as part of its consultation process, running from July 2024 till the end of the year.

A first milestone in this process is the NWE online stakeholder survey, which is now open until 13 September 2024.

If you have first-hand experience with Interreg North-West Europe, this survey is specifically designed for you!

This means above all project beneficiaries from the 2014-2020 and the 2021-2027 programming periods: lead partners, project partners and associated organisations. Other stakeholders, such as project applicants or anyone who has been following our Programme’s progress and results over the years, are also welcome to participate.

The main objective of this survey is to collect input and feedback on our Programme’s strengths, weaknesses and overall rationale. Your insights are essential in shaping the future of our Programme!

Why this consultation?

Following the publication of the 9th Cohesion Report, the Commission has launched a significant period of strategic reflections about the future of Cohesion Policy. Among other initiatives, a group of high-level specialists was established in early 2023. Their final report, which includes conclusions and recommendations, was published in February 2024 and is available on the EU Commission website.

As the reflections continue, the Commission has launched a consultation process with all Interreg programmes earlier this year.

The Interreg North-West Europe Programme is happy to contribute to this initiative by engaging in its own stakeholder consultation process.

Next steps in the consultation process

The NWE Annual Event - Ready, get set, cooperate! in Dublin on 5-6 November 2024 will present the first results of the survey and be an important moment to collect additional input on how to shape the future of Interreg NWE.

All these inputs from Interreg NWE key stakeholders will feed into a report to be submitted to the European Commission by the end of 2024, and will contribute to discussions on Interreg and its role within Cohesion Policy post-2027.

We are looking forward to your contribution!
